About the Exhibition
Mrs. B. K. Hoskin BDes MFA (aka Bethany Vanderputten) is happy to announce that in conjunction with the publication of her self-published 2021-2026 Mega Catalog (listing all of her paintings, products and publications produced over the last five years) this spring, she will be solo exhibiting a collection of her original acrylic expressive realist landscape paintings.
Bethany has independently created over 200 paintings over the past five years, including popular pieces like “Alone by the Bow”, “The Saddledome”, and “Ski Hill”. Although she is a prolific illustrator and acrylic artist she has focused more recently on sharing reproductions of her artwork, on products and in publications, at local markets.
B. K. Hoskin’s “Mega: Original Landscape Art Exhibition & Sale” will run May 1-31, 2026 at the Crowfoot branch of the Calgary Public Library. Location: 8665 Nose Hill Drive NW, Calgary, Alberta. The exhibition is free to visit and open to the public during regular library hours.
“Landscape painting is part of my creative output as an artist and illustrator. What has interested me in the landscape generally has been painting well-known places and those that tourists would want to remember. Although atmosphere is an integral part of painting the landscape, my northern dry climate makes it difficult to see the effect distance has on the subject, I mostly find it through differences in colour tone rather than through painting any sort of fog. This exhibition includes a number of well-known Canadian landmarks as well as some international ones. I hope you enjoy the views!” - Bethany
